Through this experience, 3rd-year ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) Chemistry students have studied how acid rain forms and the consequences of this phenomenon in various areas, such as the environment, human health, buildings, and monuments, while also developing research, observation, and teamwork skills.
As part of the project, the students analyzed the potential effects of acid rain on the Palace of the Marquis. They observed how pollution and humidity can progressively affect the building’s facades, sculptures, and decorative elements.
The study has helped them understand the importance of preserving historical heritage and the need to reduce polluting emissions to protect both the environment and the monuments in our surroundings.
The activity has served to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our planet and preserving the historical buildings that are part of our history and culture.
